MJF fully embraced his Devil persona, wearing a satanic entrance gear at AEW Dynasty.
AEW built the World Championship match between Kenny Omega and MJF at the Dynasty pay-per-view as a showdown between the God of Professional Wrestling and the Devil. The reigning World Champion made sure to emphasize that during his entrance as he fully embraced his Devil persona and emerged from the depths of hell.
He made a theatrical entrance with red lighting, smoke, flares, and he sat on a throne as it ascended to the stage. His attire particularly caught everyone’s attention because his coat featured inverted crosses and the number 666.
Fans were quick to opine that MJF’s presentation might get some backlash from conservative or religious viewers sensitive to satanic imagery, while predicting the moment would gain significant attention online, especially if he retains his title.
That’s exactly what happened, as after some brutal back-and-forth action, MJF picked up the win by hitting Kenny Omega with a Tombstone Piledriver through a table before performing a Heatseeker to get the pin and retain the title. He then sat on his throne on the stage and descended back to the depths to close the show.
MJF already has his next challenger lined up, as Darby Allin, who earned the opportunity by beating Andrade El Idolo earlier in the PPV, will challenge him for the title at the special Spring Breakthru edition of AEW Dynamite on April 15.
