[WATCH] Richa Ghosh’s on-point reflexes! Takes a one-handed stunner behind the sticks

The replays showed reaction time during that process was a mere 0.44 seconds, showing Richa had less than a second to react and catch.

Richa Ghosh took a splendid one-handed stunner to dismiss Fatima Sana on the final delivery of the 14th over bowled by Asha Sobhana. Richa showed superb reflexes, and the ball just stuck in her gloves, providing India with a massive breakthrough.

Asha bowled a loopy delivery outside the off-stump line, and the ball gripped and turned away from the batter, who looked to play a slog sweep across the line. However, it hit the outside edge of the willow, and the ball went behind the sticks, slightly away from the wicketkeeper.

As the ball was going away, Richa immediately took his right hand towards its direction, and the ball lodged in her gloves in a flash. Her reflexes were on point, for it’s never easy to judge the direction when the ball is coming quickly.

The replays showed reaction time during that process was a mere 0.44 seconds, showing Richa had less than a second to react and catch. It was a big wicket, for Fatima was batting with intent and could have raced away with the game and helped Pakistan post an above-par total on the board in the first innings.

Pakistan post 105/8 after electing to bat first

After winning the toss, Pakistan opted to field first in a sultry afternoon in Dubai. However, they didn’t get a good start to the innings, for they lost as many as two wickets in the powerplay and could only score 29 runs.

Later, they kept losing wickets in the middle overs, and their innings never got the required momentum at any stage. Eventually, Pakistan ended with 105/8, which might not be enough to stop a strong batting unit of India.

Arundhati Reddy starred with the ball, taking as many as three wickets while conceding only 19 runs in her four-over spell. Shreyanka Patil also bowled an economical spell, giving away only 12 runs for her two wickets.

All three other bowlers got a wicket each and played a crucial role in restricting Pakistan to a low total. India hope to chase down this target quickly and improve their net run rate as well.
