13-year-old India batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi played a magnificent knock in the semi-finals of the U-19 Asia Cup. Suryavanshi’s innings led India to a very strong position in the chase of 174 runs against Sri Lanka.
After playing a superb unbeaten knock of 76 in India’s previous match of the tournament against UAE, Suryavanshi once again answered his critics in style and this time played a stunning knock of 67 runs off just 36 deliveries.
In the second over of the Indian innings, Suryavanshi smashed Sri Lanka quick Dulnith Sigera for a massive 31 runs. In the over, Suryavanshi hit 3 sixes and a boundary.
The 13-year-old went on to score an amazing half-century off just 24 deliveries. He would eventually be dismissed for 67 runs by Praveen Maneesha, however the damage was already done.
The blistering innings carried India to a comfortable victory by 7 wickets, taking them to the final of the U-19 Asia Cup. They would be facing either Pakistan or Bangladesh in the final which is set to be played on December 8.
