Musheer Khan made his IPL debut for Punjab Kings on May 29 during the Qualifier 1 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Mullanpur. The 20-year-old batter from Mumbai came in as an impact player after PBKS suffered a major batting collapse.
Musheer walked out to bat at No. 8, but before he could take guard, a comment by Virat Kohli caught everyone’s attention. Kohli, who was standing at first slip, was heard saying, “Yeh paani pilata hai” – a remark many fans found disrespectful.
The clip quickly spread across social media, with several fans criticising Kohli for mocking a youngster on debut. Many said that such behaviour was uncalled for, especially from a senior player like him.

Musheer, who is the younger brother of Sarfaraz Khan, had a forgettable outing with the bat. He was dismissed for a three-ball duck by Suyash Sharma. However, in the second innings, he bowled two overs and managed to dismiss Faf du Plessis, finishing with figures of 1/27.
RCB Storm Into the Final
Despite the incident, RCB had a near-perfect day. Led by Rajat Patidar, they bowled out PBKS for just 101 runs in 14.1 overs.
Marcus Stoinis scored 26 runs, while the rest of the batting lineup crumbled. Suyash Sharma and Mohammed Siraj picked three wickets each, while Yash Dayal took two.
RCB chased down the target easily, sealing an 8-wicket win and reaching the IPL final after nine years.
