SHANNONVILLE, ON – Shannonville Drags is pleased to announce that beginning with the 2026 racing season, the facility will operate under International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) sanctioning as part of a broader alignment that sees WDRA and IHRA joining forces to strengthen grassroots drag racing across North America.
This transition represents an evolution rather than a departure. The experienced leadership and operational structure that racers have come to trust through WDRA will continue under the IHRA banner, combining proven personnel with expanded resources, national reach, and long-term stability.
The principal individuals who previously led WDRA operations will continue performing those same roles within IHRA. Jon O’Neal, “Skooter” Peaco, and their staff have joined Chris Eager and the existing IHRA divisional team to form the new IHRA Sportsman Series, ensuring continuity, consistency, and a racer-focused approach moving forward.
Shannonville Drags is managed by Chuck Fram, with a management team that includes Kevin Fram and Jackie Fram, all of whom are committed to delivering a high-quality, well-organized racing program that supports racers, fans, and sponsors alike.
“This alignment brings together the best of both organizations,” said Fram. “The same knowledgeable people are still doing the same jobs, now with the added support and structure of IHRA. For racers, this means continuity, clarity, and opportunity.”
Under IHRA sanctioning, competitors can expect familiar class structures, consistent rules packages, streamlined licensing, and access to IHRA championship programs. Fans will continue to enjoy the competitive grassroots racing Shannonville Drags is known for, supported by a unified Sportsman Series designed for long-term growth.
Additional details regarding the 2026 season schedule, class offerings, and licensing information will be released in the coming months. Racers and teams are encouraged to follow Shannonville Drags’ official channels for updates.
