We will prepare well for the rest of our games – Medeama boss Ibrahim Tanko – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Scores, Results

Medeama SC coach Ibrahim Tanko has emphasized his team’s commitment to meticulous preparation as they tackle the remaining fixtures of the Ghana Premier League season.

The Tarkwa-based side sits comfortably atop the league with 43 points from 21 matches.

Their 17-game unbeaten run was recently snapped by Nations FC, who handed Medeama a 2-1 defeat at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex. Despite the setback, Medeama’s title aspirations remain intact, with a seven-point cushion over second-placed Bibiani Gold Stars.

“I always say we’re not invincible. We have our strengths and our weaknesses, so we are going to prepare very well and face the rest of the games,” Tanko said.

The former Black Stars assistant coach also celebrated guiding Medeama to the MTN FA Cup quarter-finals after a tense 4-2 penalty shootout win over FC Samartex 1996, following a goalless draw in regulation time.

Tanko revealed that recent injury concerns had threatened the team’s campaign but expressed optimism over the return of key players.

Manuel Mantey and Emma have resumed full training, with Emma impressing in a recent friendly.

“Both are training very well. Mantey is back, and Emma has also returned,” he said. “Emma came back about two weeks ago, but we didn’t want to rush him. He played in a friendly match yesterday and did very well, so I think he is fully back.”

Medeama will host Aduana FC at the TNA Park in their Matchday 22 fixture this weekend.
