Welcome to the weekly Olympic Thread. As a reminder, the men’s hockey teams with representatives from the Predators are: USA (Dr. Kevin), Finland (Saros, Haula), Sweden (Forsberg) and Switzerland (Josi).
Hockey Thoughts: USA, Canada, Slovakia and Finland are through to the quarterfinals. Games between the remaining eight teams on Tuesdays will send the other four teams through….I have mixed thoughts on the Tom Wilson fight. First I like that there is no fighting in the Olympics, but it doesn’t work when cheap shots only get a minor penalty….I feel for Kevin Fiala – that looked painful and is most likely season ending.
Olympic Thoughts: I feel awful for Ilia Malinin. He surely feels like he let everyone down. Could they just stop playing the commercials showing him being great?….It’s been a few days and I still cannot fathom how someone can win a 10K cross country skiing event with bruised ribs…..my husband and I agree that the skeleton competitors are insane.
