Our topics:

1. The 2026 ASICS LA Marathon was, with a very close Men’s finish, a snafu in the Men’s finish and 27,000 plus starters in year 41.

2. High school cross country coach Nathan Green won by .01, in 2:11:18. Michael Kamau of Kenya was leading, fatigued, and was taken off course with 400 meters to go. Some believe that was the difference between his loss and a possible win.

3. Jacob Kiplimo ran 57:20 in Lisbon for a possible world record in the half marathon on 57:20. Tsige Gebreselama won the women’s race in 1:04:48!

4. Emmanouil Karalis, GRE, one week after his astounding 6.17 m (20 feet, 2.25 inches) pole vault, the #2 ever, cleared 6.06m with Sondre Guttormsen, NOR, also at 6.06m PB and NR for Norway and Kurtis Marschall, 6.01m, the number two Australiawwn pole vault. This was at Perche Elite de Rouen on Saturday. Molly Caudery cleared 4.70m for the women’s win.
