We’ve smashed it! Britain’s Greatest Rally serves up a mammoth total

Hundreds of table tennis enthusiasts across the country combined to play an incredible 207,343 rallies in one day – more than double the target number!

A total of 33 venues officially registered to hold Britain’s Greatest Rally events, marking 50 days until the ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals London 2026.

Whether specially arranging sessions or including the event as part of their normal Monday activity, they got players of all ages doing their bit for Britain’s Greatest Rally, which aimed to hit 100,000 rallies to reflect the centenary of the World Championships.

One of the biggest ever co-ordinated activities staged by Table Tennis England saw clubs, schools and community organisations all make their contribution, and with every game score being counted towards a grand total – for example, 11-6 was logged as 17 rallies – the tally quickly began climbing towards the target.

The counting-up has all been completed, and we can reveal the final total of 207,343 – a massive thank you to everyone who got involved!

There was media interest too, with China Media Group attending the session at Fusion TTC in Bermondsey, ITV London visiting Greenhouse Sports, ITV Granada at Crewe TTC, BBC Radion Cornwall at St Austell TTC, Greatest Hits Radio Norfolk at Wensum and West Leeds Dispatch at ParkyPING!
