INDIANAPOLIS — If the Patriots want to make a trade call about wide receiver A.J. Brown or edge defender Maxx Crosby, then the Eagles and Raiders are open to listening.
Eagles general manager Howie Roseman and head coach Nick Sirianni were both asked about the potential of moving on from Brown.
Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel coached Brown with the Titans, and the 31st overall pick could be attractive in a trade offer for Brown.
“Yeah, my expectation is he wants to be here. And obviously you want good players like that in your building,” Sirianni told local media before the combine.
Sirianni did say he can’t guarantee that Brown will be with the Eagles in 2026, however.
Roseman did seem open to discussing trade offers for Brown.
“I think you go into the league year listening to offers for everything and anything,” Roseman said. “If someone is going to give you something you didn’t anticipate and you won’t even have the conversation, I don’t think you’re necessarily doing your job or really servicing the team you’re with.
“You never know what someone is willing to do. Certainly, we’ve been in situations where there were guys we didn’t anticipate trading that we got an offer that was too good, and then you balance it with what you can get there.
“Without getting into specifics on any player, we’re always listening and we’re always kind of open. There’s very few things that I would shoot down without even hearing what that means, because how does it hurt to listen?”
Brown would give the Patriots a top receiving option for quarterback Drake Maye. Brown also grew up as a diehard Patriots fan.
The Patriots also have a need at edge defender that Crosby could fill.
Raiders GM John Spytek said Tuesday that he expects Crosby to play for the Raiders next season but, “I learned a long time ago, always listen. I’m always listening.”
The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported before the Super Bowl that Crosby would be interested in playing for Vrabel.
Patriots EVP Eliot Wolf acknowledged that edge defender is one of the team’s top needs. He said he’d be willing to trade their first-round pick if the right opportunity presented itself. He also said, “having more playmakers is a good thing” when asked about acquiring a top-flight wide receiver.
No deal can be finalized until March 11, when the new NFL league year begins, but trades can be agreed upon.
