Bernhard and Company, the global leader in fine turf maintenance solutions, has successfully completed a major machinery installation at Laguna Golf Phuket, reinforcing the resort’s commitment to delivering world-class playing conditions at one of Asia’s most respected golf venues.
Laguna Golf Phuket, a recent host of the Asian Tour and a cornerstone of premium golf in the region, has made a strategic investment in Bernhard and Company’s industry-leading Express Dual and Anglemaster grinding systems.
The installation, delivered in collaboration with Bernhard and Company’s regional distributor, Sports Turf Solutions, represents a significant step forward in the club’s long-term agronomy strategy and underscores its ambition to set new benchmarks in course conditioning.
The initiative forms part of a renewed agronomy vision led by Jhomer Darlito Q. Patalot Jr, Director of Agronomy at Laguna Golf Phuket.
Under his direction, the focus has been placed on optimising cutting performance, enhancing equipment reliability, and extending the operational lifespan of the club’s machinery fleet.
With responsibility for maintaining approximately 15 cutting units across the course, Patalot and his team require precision, consistency, and efficiency at every stage of turf maintenance.
By integrating Bernhard and Company’s Express Dual and Anglemaster systems into its maintenance operation, Laguna Golf Phuket gains the ability to achieve consistently sharper cutting units, directly contributing to improved turf quality, plant health, and overall playing performance.
In addition to agronomic benefits, the investment aligns closely with the resort’s broader sustainability objectives by

A key component of the installation was comprehensive, hands-on training delivered by Bernhard and Company to ensure the systems are fully embedded into daily maintenance practices.
12 members of Laguna Golf Phuket’s greenkeeping and mechanics team participated in the training programme led by Mirai Takahashi, Business Development Manager for Japan.
The sessions focused on best practices in grinding, system operation, and maintenance workflows, empowering the team with the technical knowledge required to maximise the value of the new equipment.
