The first day of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Warm-up matches have been concluded with Scotland and Sri Lanka finding wins against Pakistan and Bangladesh respectively.
The first match was between Pakistan and Scotland. Pakistan Women won the toss and elected to bat first in the match. As the top-order fails to make much runs, Pakistan could make 132/9 in the match as the middle-order and lower order have some players to score in doble digits. Gull Feroza was the only from the top order to score in double digit who made 14 runs off 16 balls.
Kathryn Bryce, the captain of Scotland Women took the most three wickets in the match with Olivia Bell and Abtaha Maqsood taking two wickets with Rachel Slater and Katherine Fraser taking a wicket each.
As the top-order plays excellent in the game, Scotland Women made 133 for the loss of only two wickets to win the match by eight wickets in 18 overs. Sarah Bryce played 60*(52) and Saskia Horley made 48(42).
Nashra Sandhu took a wicket for Pakistan Women where eight bowlers were utilized by Fatima Sana in the search of wickets.
The second match was between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Bangladesh Women won the toss and elected to field first in the match. With the contributions from top-order and Nilakshika Silva in middle-order, Sri Lanka made 143/7 in 20 overs.
Shorna Akter took the most two wickets for Bangladesh Women in the match with Jahanara Alam, Sultana Khatun, Nahida Akter, Ritu Moni and Rabeya Khan taking a wicket each.
As Bangladesh Women didn’t have a good start and struggled through the innings except Disha Biswas’ 25(16), they were able to make 110/9 at the end of the innings.
Chamari Athapaththu utilized nine bowlers in the match. Sugandika Kumari took the most three wickets. Inoshi Priyadharshani took two wickets. Achini Kulasuriya, Inoka Ranweera, Chamari Athapaththu and Shashini Gimhani took a wicket each.
Sri Lanka Women won the match by 33 runs.
