What happens if India won’t tour Pakistan for Champions Trophy? ICC’s plans

After the 2024 T20 World Cup trophy, the next big ICC trophy that India will be aiming to win is going to be ICC Champions Trophy, going to be held in Pakistan. This is going to be the first ICC event that is going to be held in Pakistan after the 1996 ODI World Cup.

Though there have been several reports regarding India not going to travel to the Pakistan for the tournament due to political reasons between the two nations. The ICC, however, are looking to find a solution for this problem.

A decision from the ICC has come out to visit Pakistan for a final inspection before the Champions Trophy 2025. According to a report by PTI “The tentative schedule is important because it involves the Indian team being based in Lahore and playing all their matches in the city. The delegation which includes their ICC Security Manager would also get briefings from security officials in Pakistan,” a source close to the proceedings told PTI., the ICC is going to have an appointment with the PCB and discuss the schedule of the tournament, including India’s match, which will be played in Lahore. Meanwhile, they will also discuss about the scenario where the Government of India does not allow India to travel to Pakistan for the event.
