Welcome back to our Discussion series. Today’s soapbox question might be an uncomfortably familiar refrain uttered on the South Side: what weakness will ultimately sink the White Sox if left unresolved? There’s always optimism during rebuild/bounce-back seasons, but about midway through summer, those same old fractures reappear. Whether it be an approach, philosophy, or trend that this organization can’t shake.
We’re not trying to beat a dead horse or Monday morning quarterback here. Rather, we want to know which ailment continually sabotages prospect wonderlands and glowing lineups from reaching their potential, and whether that issue can be solved or is ingrained in the team’s identity. Player development? Depth? Decision making? All of the above? Or something more ubiquitous that occurs nightly between the white lines? Climb up behind us on that soapbox and let us know what YOU think, because if one thing remains broken, it may not matter what else goes right.
