What’s happening on Thursday?
– Florida Tennis

The men’s quarterfinals will be completed on today. Florida-based Frances Tiafoe will take on Jannik Sinner, who he has beaten once in five attempts. In the night match, Alexander Zverev will play Francisco Cerundolo. Both players have done well in Miami: Zverev is looking to reach his third semifinal and Cerundolo his second.

The women’s semifinals are also set for today. American Coco Gauff will face Karolina Muchova in the first semifinal. Gauff is a perfect 5-0 against Muchova.

In the evening semifinal, No. 2 Elena Rybakina will face defending champion and top seed Aryna Sabalenka. It will be the first time a world No. 1 and No. 2 play before the final in a WTA event (excluding the WTA Finals) since 1987 in the Miami semifinals (No. 2 Stefanie Graf defeated No. 1 Martina Navratilova).

The women’s quarterfinals wrapped up on Wednesday with Elena Rybakina coming back from a set down to defeat Jessica Pegula, and Aryna Sabalenka stopping unseeded American Hailey Baptiste.

In men’s quarterfinal action yesterday, Jiri Lehecka ended 20-year-old qualifier Martin Landaluce’s breakthrough run while 21-year-old Arthur Fils saved four match points to reach his first Masters 100 semifinal in a three set win over Tommy Paul.
