After completing 42 Test matches, Jasprit Bumrah has played a total of 81 innings while legendary Pakistan pacer Wasim Akram had played 71 innings in the same number of Tests.
2.) Overs and maidens
After completing 42 Tests, Akram had bowled a total of 1,512 overs while Bumrah has bowled 1,341 overs in the same number of Tests. While Akram had bowled 345 maiden overs, Bumrah lags just a little behind with 318 maidens.
3.) Wickets
After completing 42 Test matches, Bumrah has taken a highly impressive 185 wickets while Akram on the other hand, had taken 159 scalps after playing the same number of Tests.
4.) Best bowling figures
After 42 Test matches, Akram’s best bowling figures in an innings were 6/62 which came against Australia, while his best figures in a match were 11/160 which also came against the Baggy Greens. On the other hand, Bumrah’s best figures in a Test innings so far are 6/27 which came against West Indies, while his best figures in a match are 9/86 and they came against Australia.

Akram would go on to play 62 more Tests and would end up clinching 255 more wickets during his career, taking his total to 414 Test scalps. Bumrah is 229 Test wickets away from matching Akram and still has a long way to go before he can be mentioned in the same conversation as the Pakistan great.
