Which Rams Players Are Free Agents This Offseason?

For the second consecutive season, the Los Angeles Rams fell just short of the Super Bowl, giving the eventual champion all they could handle, but not being able to finish the job. But with MVP quarterback Matthew Stafford already announcing his return for next season, there is no doubt the Rams will do everything they can this offseason to put together the best roster possible to make a return to the Super Bowl.

This of course, includes dealing with their own free agents and the Rams have some important players set to hit the market this offseason. A couple of those potential free agents have already been dealt with as tackle Rob Havenstein has announced his retirement from the NFL while the team already re-signed reserve tackle David Quessenberry. Whether or not his re-signing means the team could let fellow reserve tackle D.J. Humphries walk remains to be seen.

On the offensive side, tight end Tyler Higbee is the biggest name as he finished with 25 receptions for 281 yards and three touchdowns last season. He has been with the franchise for 10 years and the Rams do employ multiple tight ends, but they also have three other younger players at the position and could afford to let the veteran walk, especially after using a second-round pick on Terrance Ferguson last year.

Tutu Atwell is another player who has had some solid seasons with the Rams, but he was limited to just 10 games due to injuries in 2025 and caught just six passes.

Defensively, there will be some big decisions made as well, particularly in the secondary which was a major sore point for the Rams in 2025. Safety Kamren Curl started all 17 games and was second on the team with 122 tackles. Additionally, cornerback Cobie Durant led the Rams with three interceptions on the season while starting 15 of 17 games. Whom the Rams want to bring back in the secondary will be worth watching without a doubt.

There are even decisions to be made on special teams as kicker Harrison Mevis, who took over midway through the year and made 12-of-13 field goals and all 39 of his extra points, is a free agent. The same can be said for punt returner Xavier Smith, who is an exclusive rights free agent, meaning the Rams can offer him a one-year tender at the league minimum which would prevent him from signing elsewhere.
