The former Sri Lanka U19 captain was born on February 22, 1983 in the city of Galle. He debuted in the Sri Lanka U19 team in the year 2000 and became the captain of the side in 2002.
Niroshana was a great all-rounder
Playing 12 first-class games and 8 List A matches for the Galle Cricket Club between the years 2001 and 2004. He scored more than 300 runs and picked up 24 wickets during his active career. He quit the sport at the age of 20.
Niroshana was shot dead at his residence
The former Sri Lanka U19 captain was shot dead at his residence in Ambalangoda on July 16, 2024. No information is available on the shooter, however one thing that is known is that the shooter used a 12-bore firearm to kill Niroshana. The former cricketer died at the age of 41.
