A supposed operational lapse during the ongoing Indian Premier League game between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals meant the scoreboard disappeared for 1.3 overs from Star Sports’ live telecast on Saturday, April 5. The malfunction was quite evident moments after Nehal Wadhera struck a maximum off Wanindu Hasaranga.
A few key events unfolded in the match during the time that the scorecard had vanished from the television screens of millions of users. However, there was no sign of it whatsoever, which further intrigued social media users.

Maheesh Theekshana was struck for a couple of boundaries on the first two deliveries of the 15th over by Glenn Maxwell. The Sri Lankan off-break bowler had the last laugh on the final delivery of the over with the help of a carrom ball which could only be struck as far as long-on.
