Why GT struggled in last league matches?
Gujarat Titans finished the season in the third spot on the points table, they were a formidable squad in the whole season of IPL 2025. However their last two league matches didn’t prove to end in a positive note for the Titans. Let’s take a look at Why GT struggled in last league matches.
Reason Gujarat Titans failed to perform well in last two matches
Gujarat Titans, having played 14 matches, have won 9 and lost 5, and ended the season with 18 points to their name, just one point shy of the top spot. If we shift our focus on the last two league matches of Gujarat Titans, they lost the last match against Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants. But what’s surprising is that, both the matches were being played at their home ground at the Narendra Modi Stadium, in Ahmedabad.
So, what went wrong for GT in those last matches? Gujarat Titans batting side, which consists of Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill, Shahrukh Khan, Arshad Khan, and Sherfane Rutherford failed to gain momentum on the pitch, and with Jos Buttler missing the playoffs, GT will be needing to work towards their batting strength. Apart from the batting lineup struggling, their bowling lineup was not a support pillar for the team as well in these matches.
How will Gujarat Titans perform in Playoffs?
Gujarat Titans will face Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator stage of IPL playoffs. If GT’s batting lineup falters again in front of Mumbai’s strong bowling lineup like Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, Hardik Pandya and if GT’s bowling lineup fails to put pressure on Mumbai Indians batters like Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, or Rohit Sharma, or else in Gujarat Titans will be in a troubled state with the Eliminator coming. However, if Gujarat Titans will gain back their balance and team strenght, they can go on stay in contention for the IPL title.
