Here’s Why Siraj was left out from the team

India’s popular right-armer Mohammed Siraj will not be a part of India’s match against Australia. The bowler took only one wicket in all of India’s matches in New York during the group stage.

However, India’s captain Rohit Sharma explained that the team is aware of how spin bowlers are gaining popularity on Caribbean pitches. He mentioned that there is a strategic decision taken to include 4 spin bowlers in the team. Siraj was replaced by Kuldeep Yadav, who made his World Cup T20 debut against Afghanistan. The decision to replace Siraj by Kuldeep was the team’s best as Yadav dismissed 2 Afghan batsmen in his first match.

In India vs Australia, Kuldeep also took wickets of Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell, making his name big in the cricket world. He also took wickets of Harry Book, Sam Curran, Chris Jordan and a joint run out of Liam Livingstone with Axar Patel in India vs England.

Team India still has four pace options with Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh at the top, followed by Hardik Pandya and the all-rounder Shivam Dube. However, Dube has bowled in only one match till now.
