Reigning UFC BMF champion Max Holloway has reacted after controversial boxer and streamer Nurideen Shabazz, aka Deen The Great, called him out.
The influencer boxer has been in the headlines recently after being slapped by bodybuilder Larry Wheels and then elbowed and dropped by former UFC fighter Tiki Ghosn during a party hosted by Quinton Jackson.
On Instagram, Dana White appeared to show support for Ghosn’s actions by sharing footage of the latter knocking down Deen the Great during the aforementioned party.
After White posted the clip, the influencer boxer responded by calling on him to bring his UFC fighters to face him. Deen The Great called out Ilia Topuria, Justin Gaethje, and Sean O’Malley.
While O’Malley is 100% game to whoop Deen, Max Holloway is confused as to why he was called out in the first place.
Max Holloway reacts to the call-out
On his Kick Stream, Max Holloway was trying to figure out why Deen The Great called him out in the first place. He said:
“I didn’t see him call me out. But I did see him talking to Sean O’Malley and calling out Ilia [Topuria]. I didn’t see him call me out.”
“Blessed” pointed out that weight classes in MMA and boxing are very different, suggesting that Deen the Great would stand no chance against him. The Hawaiian remained confused as to why he was called out, repeatedly asking members of the chat if they knew the reason. He added:
“I think he has his weight classes confused. He doesn’t know that lightweight in boxing is different than lightweight in the UFC. Like lightweight in boxing is 135, I believe, and lightweight in the UFC is, of course, 155. I don’t think he knows that. I don’t know why. If he did call me out, it’s kind of crazy. Why the hell would he want to fight me for? Did he say why he call me out? Is there a reason?
