Why Washington Sundar Isn’t Playing Today’s 3rd Test of India tour of Australia 2024

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy has now reached the next destination in Gabba, Brisbane for the Third Test between India and Australia. Washington Sundar Benched

Washington Sundar is not going to play in the third Test against Australia in Gabba. 

Team India has decided to go with Ravichandran Ashwin for the game. Ravichandran Ashwin is a more skilled spinner than Sundar. 

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy is now at its most crucial point. The series is leveled with 1-1. Team India secured a victory in Perth under Bumrah’s leadership, while Australia won the second Test with 10 wickets with Travis Head’s brilliant batting.

Need For Skilled Spin

Team India is in a do or die situation. As the BGT series is tied 1-1. To get the direct spot in the World Test Championship 2023-25 finals, team India has to win the remaining 3 Test matches of the 5 match Test series.  

If India lost any of the matches, they will be in difficulty to get into the WTC finals. Team India has already gone through a white wash by New Zealand that has depleted their WTC final chances.
