Will Dhruv Jurel bat in third innings after Rishabh Pant’s injury?

Indian wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant got injured in the first Test match against New Zealand. During wicket keeping on Day 2, Rishabh was hit straight on his kneecap of the leg for which he had gone surgery after his road accident. Hence, taking him out of the field was decided as a precautionary measure.

Rishabh was hit on his right knee, which resulted in him exiting the field during the 37th over. all this happened because of a delivery from Jadeja, which turned and went slightly low, hitting Pant directly on the leg where he had undergone surgery. Dhruv Jurel was called out as his replacement.

There was a cha,ge in the rules of Test cricket in 2018, which allows for a substitute player to come on the field to keep the wickets if the ongoing wicketkeeper faces an injury.
This has allowed Dhruv Jurel to keep the wickets in place of Rishabh.
But there is no statement for the substitute player to play any other role. Hence, if Rishabh is not fit to play for India in the second innings, Dhruv Jurel cannot come to bat for the team.
