Former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson has expressed how he admires Joe Root, praising his achievements in Test cricket. Williamson highlighted the consistent performances of Root, which has helped him break game’s most significant records.
Speaking to reporters, Williamson discussed about the ‘Fab Four’. He expressed how he enjoyed watching Root, Virat Kohli, and Steve Smith in Test cricket. For all these years, these players have dominated Test cricket due to his exceptional form in the last four years.
Joe Root recently went over Cook’s record for most Test centuries by an England player. The remarkable consistency by Root has solidified himself as one of the greatest Test batters of all time. When asked about the ‘Fab Four’ serve as motivation for him, Williamson said, :Not really, no.”
“You mentioned Joe Root. He has been something else for a long period of time. Obviously, there is a lot of attention on what he might be able to achieve in a number of years and it’s just incredible that that conversion can even be had. He has been phenomenal. I have been a big fan of his. Not just him, but the other guys as well, amazing how they have sort of moved the game forward in a big way,” Williamson further stated.
