Game Day: Winnipeg Jets vs. Philadelphia Flyers
Saturday night feels like an appropriate time for Mark Scheifele to hit his first 100-point season, as he sits at 99 points, just one away. Nino Niederreiter also remains one point shy of 500 in his career.
Philadelphia continues to fight for third place in the Metropolitan Division. They’re 6-4-0 in their last 10 contests and have won three of their last four games (3-1-0).
As of this morning, Winnipeg remains three points out of the final playoff spot in the West. Not only do the Jets need two points tonight, but they also need plenty to go their way on the out-of-town scoreboard. L.A. plays Edmonton, and the hope is Edmonton can pull out a regulation win, as L.A. is three points ahead and holds WC2. Nashville, who sits two points ahead, plays Minnesota, while San Jose takes on Vancouver.
These two teams haven’t met since October when Winnipeg earned a 5-2 victory. Tonight is the final game of the two-game regular-season series.
