Wise Owl Boxing, led by respected boxing manager Mark Habibi, has officially announced the signing of undefeated lightweight prospect Brandon McCarthy to its growing elite management roster.
McCarthy, one of Ireland’s most decorated amateur boxers in recent memory, enters the Wise Owl stable with an extraordinary pedigree. A 16-time National Champion, he compiled a remarkable amateur record of 200-15, earning widespread recognition across Ireland and on the international stage for his technical skill, grit, and championship mindset.
Since turning professional, McCarthy has transitioned seamlessly into the paid ranks. The rising lightweight currently holds a perfect 5-0 record and has already shown rapid development. After making his professional debut in a four-round bout on the respected ProBox platform, McCarthy moved into six-round contests by just his second fight — a strong indication of both his readiness and the confidence his team has in his ability.
Now based in Hollywood, California, McCarthy trains at the world-renowned Wild Card Boxing Club under acclaimed trainer Marvin Somodio. Surrounded by elite-level fighters and championship-caliber coaching, the Irish standout is positioning himself for a serious run in the highly competitive 135-pound division.
Wise Owl Boxing continues to build a formidable stable under Habibi’s leadership. The company manages top-ranked contender Brandon Adams, who is closing in on a world title opportunity, along with multiple Olympians who have successfully transitioned into the professional ranks.
Habibi believes McCarthy fits perfectly into the Wise Owl vision.
“Brandon is the perfect addition to our stable,” said Habibi. “His amateur career is incredibly impressive — 200 wins doesn’t happen by accident. That experience is exactly why he was able to move into six-round fights so quickly against tough competition. He doesn’t shy away from anyone. I love that killer instinct. He’s going to make a lot of noise at 135 pounds.”
McCarthy is scheduled to make his first appearance under Wise Owl Boxing management in April, with official event details expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
With a decorated amateur foundation, an aggressive yet polished style, and a clear championship ambition, Brandon McCarthy now embarks on the next chapter of his career — one that Wise Owl Boxing believes will lead to major opportunities in one of boxing’s deepest and most talent-rich divisions.
