Arshdeep and Aditya Thakare (4/59) took the new ball and bowled unchanged for 22.2 overs, and that effectively brought down the curtain on Abhimanyu Easwaran’s team for a very poor 115 runs. Eight India B batters were able to score only single digit runs. India B thus concluded the campaign with seven points from three matches, having secured victory in the first match of the league and earning one point for the subsequent match by not losing the first innings lead.
Due to a combination of factors, India D though came last in the table, swept full six points as had lost the earlier two games.
Arshdeep, who lost out to Yash Dayal in the race to the Test squad as the preferred choice as the left-arm seamer, did well as he always bowled a good length to the top order right-handers from whom he was able to get the ball to move away.
