The highly anticipated World Test Championship, WTC 2023-25 final is scheduled to take place from June 11 to June 15 at the prestigious Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. A reserve day has been set for June 16 to account for any weather-related interruptions. This marks the third edition of the WTC final, with previous finals held in Southampton in 2021 and The Oval in London in 2023.

India currently lead the WTC standings, with Australia close behind in second place. Both teams are vying for a spot in the final, aiming to secure their place in the ultimate Test cricket showdown. The top two teams from the ongoing two-year cycle of Test cricket will earn the right to compete in the final.

‘Will be there again’ Pat Cummins optimistic to play WTC 2023-25 final

Australian captain Pat Cummins has expressed his team’s strong desire to defend their title, highlighting the importance of consistency and hard work throughout the cycle. The WTC final at Lord’s is set to be a historic event, as this will be the first time the prestigious ground hosts the championship match.

“Winning the World Test Championship was, and still is, a big goal for this team. It is the culmination of hard work and consistency over the two-year cycle for all teams. So hopefully we will be there again, there’s a lot of cricket still to be played between now and then, and the fans can get a chance to watch us defend the title,”

Guy Lavender, Chief Executive of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), emphasized the significance of hosting the two best men’s sides in the world at the “Home of Cricket.” The WTC 2023-25 final represents the pinnacle of Test cricket, bringing together the best-performing teams for a global showcase of the sport.

“Test match days at Lord’s are special and to welcome the two best men’s sides in the world at the time, to battle it out at the Home of Cricket, will be a cricketing experience not to be missed,”
