Doubs Posts Career Highs as Contract Runs Out
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs will enter free agency in 2026 after leading the team in receptions, targets and receiving yards during the 2025 season. The 25-year-old caught 55 passes for 724 yards and six touchdowns on 85 targets.
Doubs set a career high in receiving yards and matched his second-best touchdown total. He tied for the team lead in receiving touchdowns with six. His 724 receiving yards topped all Packers pass catchers.
The production came as injuries depleted Green Bay’s receiving corps. Christian Watson missed the first seven games while recovering from a torn ACL suffered in the 2024 season finale. Jayden Reed appeared in only seven regular-season games after suffering a broken collarbone and a foot injury in Week 2. Tight end Tucker Kraft tore his ACL in Week 9 against Carolina and missed the remainder of the season.
Doubs finished strong in the Wild Card playoff loss to Chicago. He caught eight of 11 targets for 124 yards and a touchdown at Soldier Field. The performance marked his best playoff game of the season.
He also recorded 12 receptions of 20 or more yards during the 2025 campaign. That total represented a career high for explosive plays.
Doubs has accumulated 2,424 yards and 21 touchdowns across four seasons with the Packers. He was selected in the fourth round of the 2022 draft out of Nevada.
Green Bay’s crowded receiver situation includes Watson, Reed, Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks and Matthew Golden. The Packers also lean heavily on running back Josh Jacobs in goal-line situations. Kraft’s absence removed the team’s leading pass catcher from the depth chart before his injury.
Doubs becomes an unrestricted free agent when the league year begins. His next contract will likely come after he turns 26 in April. Teams seeking reliable receiver production may target him in free agency.
The Packers finished 9-8-1 and reached the playoffs as the No. 7 seed. They lost to the Bears 31-27 in the Wild Card round. Green Bay has made the playoffs in three consecutive seasons but owns only one playoff victory during that stretch.
Watson returned in Week 8 and finished with 611 receiving yards. Reed’s limited availability impacted his production totals. The team’s passing game ranked 18th in the NFL at 226.2 yards per game.
Doubs’ consistent availability contrasted with the injury issues around him. He appeared in 16 regular-season games. His 85 targets led all Packers receivers by 30 over the next closest player.
