Wreckreation adds Live Mix buildings and graphics settings for consoles

Console players can now switch between Quality and Performance mode in Wreckreation.

Despite the entire team being put on redundancy notice earlier this month, Three Fields Entertainment is still diligently supporting Wreckreation with a swathe of post-release updates.

The latest pre-Christmas update has dropped, bringing with it a long-requested new feature: Live Mix buildings.

As previewed in a recent video outlining planned updates, players can now add a selection of buildings to fill out the barren environment. The latest update adds 32 new Live Mix objects, including 22 buildings as well as scaffolding, cranes and other construction materials.

These new buildings can be placed in a newly added town area in place of a mountain that has been removed.

Another welcome addition is new graphics settings for consoles. This allows players to prioritise graphics or performance on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with Quality mode running at a “consistent 4k resolution” in 30fps while reducing screen tearing.

The update also makes it possible to try player-created challenges by sharing codes with friends. Thanks to the recent cross-play update, these challenges can be played across PC, PlayStation or Xbox.

The update comes after Three Fields launched a Patreon campaign this week, inviting fans to help fund future updates and prevent the independent studio from shutting down.
