A few surprises as the bottom half looks for quarterfinal spots.
But the most stylistically fascinating matchup is Swiatek v Muchova. Muchova’s variety is a rhythm buster, and Swiatek has nothing but respect for her game.
Swiatek is 4-1 in that matchup, though. And that includes a 6-1, 6-1 drubbing last yeear on the same court. But their early clashes were closer than close, all 6-4 in the third set with Swiatek winning two of them.
Many of those matches came with Swiatek was playing better than she is now. So a lot to look forward to.
