Shawn Michaels is set to be the focus of a major new WWE project — and it’s almost ready to roll out.
According to WrestleVotes Radio, a brand-new documentary centered around Shawn Michaels is nearing its premiere. WWE has reportedly completed a full-length feature on the Hall of Famer, including several new interviews with his peers and longtime adversaries.
While an official release date has not yet been announced, the project is said to be close to debuting. The documentary is expected to take a deep look at Michaels’ career, legacy, and influence — both inside the ring and behind the scenes. Given his current role helping shape WWE’s next generation of talent, the timing of the release is notable.

That’s not all, as WrestleVotes Radio also reports that ESPN will air a condensed version of Royal Rumble 2026 this Sunday, February 22, on its main broadcast channel.
Royal Rumble 2026 originally aired on ESPN Unlimited on January 31. All WWE Premium Live Events in the United States stream exclusively on ESPN Unlimited, making this upcoming ESPN broadcast a notable change. The decision is reportedly part of a broader effort to promote upcoming WWE Premium Live Events and allow ESPN to evaluate viewership data for an over-the-air presentation of WWE programming.

The move gives WWE exposure to a wider traditional TV audience while serving as a test case for how the product performs outside of streaming. With a Shawn Michaels documentary nearly ready and Royal Rumble getting network television treatment, WWE’s media strategy in 2026 continues to expand across platforms.
