WWE News & Notes: Alberto Del Rio, Stephanie Vaquer, NXT Call-Ups, more

Recently there were some reports that suggested that former WWE wrestler Alberto Del Rio was teasing a return to AAA, which of course is now owned by WWE. This report surprised a lot of people given Del Rio’s disparaging remarks in the past against the company and specifically Chief Content Officer, Paul Levesque. According to Fightful Select, Del Rio is not in any discussions with WWE and the company is not looking to bring him back in any capacity.

Fightful reported that WWE’s decision not to move forward with the Blake Monroe vs. Thea Hail rematch on NXT was not a last minute move but something that had been planned for a couple of weeks.

There were attempts by Netflix to get cast members of The Stranger Things to attend last Monday’s WWE Raw but it obviously never materialized.

Stephanie Vaquer is believed to be dealing with a sprained ankle but is cleared for contact, which is why she was able to engage in physicality on WWE Raw. The injury is not expected to sideline her for a long time, hence there has been no thought to having her vacate the Women’s Title.

Fightful Select reported that despite recent reports that WWE was looking to bring up both Blake Monroe and Jacy Jayne from NXT to one of the main brands, this move wasn’t expected imminently.
