TNA No Surrender ended with a title change on Friday night as WWE NXT’s Arianna Grace won the TNA Knockouts World Championship in a controversial manner. She beat champion Lei Ying Lee to win her first-ever title. Moreover, she did it using a move made famous by her father.
At the February 13 event, Grace came to the ring with Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo by her side. Many fans felt she had not really earned the title shot, as they believed she got the opportunity because of her complicated relationship with TNA’s Director of Authority, Santino Marella, who also happens to be her father.

Grace’s journey in this match went through ups and downs. She made up with Marella only to turn on him soon after. On the other hand, Lee was having a strong run as champion.
When the match started, Lee controlled much of the action with her strikes and moves. Things started to turn after a well-timed distraction helped Grace take control. About 15 minutes in, she hit Grace with a huge avalanche suplex that almost ended it.
Then came the moment everyone will remember.
Near the end, Grace pulled out “The Cobra,” the famous sock puppet strike her father made popular. She took the sock from Marella earlier on Thursday Night iMPACT.
Grace slipped it on and hit Lee in the throat with it. Grace then followed it up with her own finishing move and got the three-count to win the TNA Knockouts World Championship.

The loss ended Lee’s 88-day title reign. For Grace, this was a big moment. She won her first championship in any promotion, and she did it on one of TNA’s biggest shows of the year. She is now the third NXT star to win the TNA Knockouts World Title, after Jacy Jayne and Kelani Jordan.
