WWE Officially Signs Former AEW Star Powerhouse Hobbs — Report

Powerhouse Hobbs has found a new home.

Hobbs’ status has been a point of contention since he left AEW when his contract expired earlier this month. According to a January 20 report from Fightful (via Fightful Select), sources said that people in WWE believed that Hobbs already signed with the company. Despite the belief, that report clarified that no official confirmation had been made.

Well, now there’s some confirmation.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp has reported that it’s no longer “believed” that Powerhouse Hobbs signed with WWE, he is signed.

Sapp did not share any details about the terms of Hobbs’ contract, or when it became official. Despite getting more clarity about Hobbs being under contract, it’s still unknown as to when Hobbs will actually debut on WWE TV.

Hobbs was rumored to potentially show up during Royal Rumble weekend, but that remains a point of speculation. Many fans also believe Hobbs could undergo a name change when he debuts in WWE, but that is based on a recent trademark application. However, that is also still just an unconfirmed rumor.
