Drew McIntyre finally dethroned Cody Rhodes and captured the WWE Championship, and WWE promptly took to social media to share some reactions.
Ahead of the airing of tonight’s SmackDown (which took place live in Germany earlier today), WWE took to social media. In a new video teasing the episode, the company showed off a ton of shocked reactions from the main event. In it, Drew McIntyre finally defeated Rhodes in a 3 Stages of Hell Match to become the new WWE Champion.
Of course, McIntyre had some inadvertent help in his win. At the end of the match, Jacob Fatu returned, attacking both McIntyre and Rhodes inside of the steel cage. As Fatu was attacking Rhodes, McIntyre quietly snuck out of the cage, and won the match.
In the video, fans can be seen shocked at the result. Many are speechless at McIntyre’s win, especially those with Rhodes’ shirts on.
