WWE Quietly Changes Title Match Ahead of March 27 SmackDown

WWE just made a quiet but major change — and it’s hitting one of the biggest matches planned for tomorrow’s WWE SmackDown.

Giulia vs. Tiffany Stratton was originally set as a WWE Women’s United States Championship match — but that’s no longer the case. WWE is now officially listing the bout as non-title. WWE’s updated preview now lists Giulia vs. Tiffany Stratton as a non-title match after it was previously announced as a championship bout.

The switch happened a day before SmackDown at PPG Paints Arena, instantly lowering the stakes — at least on paper — for what was being built as a major title defense. WWE is still pushing the matchup as a big deal heading into WrestleMania 42 season, but now it’s clearly more about momentum than gold.

“Women’s United States Champion Giulia is set to clash with former WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton in an explosive non-title showdown on The Road to WrestleMania.”

Instead of risking the title on TV, WWE might be saving that payoff for something bigger, especially with WrestleMania 42 around the corner. Let them go all out on SmackDown this week, build the tension, and then pull the trigger when it matters most. Either way, the message is clear — WWE still sees this as a big feud; just not one they’re ready to end yet.

Do you think WWE is saving Giulia vs Tiffany Stratton for a bigger stage, or did they just take the stakes out of a must-see match? Drop your thoughts and feedback below.
