Nick Aldis offered an invitation to Drew McIntyre to return to SmackDown, but he was given a letter from his lawyer to state that he will not return to an “unsafe work environment”. Cody Rhodes crumples up the letter and heads to the ring.

The champion talks down to Drew McIntyre, but that only lasts so long, as he is interrupted by Oba Femi, the NXT Champion.

Oba loves the passion, but he is worried about the wrong man. Cody is worried about Drew, but he is not here. The NXT Champion is in the building tonight, so allow him to introduce himself. He is Oba Femi, and he is The Ruler, The Destroyer, The Bringer of War, and the mountain he cannot climb nor conquer. He is also his opponent tomorrow on Saturday Night’s Main Event.

In the spirit of that, it has been billed as the present against the future. He is here knocking on his front door to tell him that the future is now. In the spirit of hustle, loyalty and respect, his time is up, and Oba’s time is now. Cody likes that he looks up to John Cena, but he defeated that man for this championship right here. Rhodes tries to walk away, but Oba stops him. They both hold up their titles.

Backstage, The Miz complains that a kid like Je’Von Evans gets a match at Saturday Night’s Main Event, but he doesn’t.

– The Wyatt Sicks make their way to the ring. Uncle Howdy sits in his chair to talk. He addresses Solo Sikoa, who has made many claims this week to discredit the family. Who is he to pass judgment? He may not have the power to look within himself, but they do.

The reality is his real family have all turned their back on him, because he used and abused those who he claims to love. He is out of his mind saying the MFTs run SmackDown. Rip the scales from his eyes. The MFTs run nothing, while the Wyatt Sicks have these tag team titles. If they want them… come and get them. Solo Sikoa appears on the screen in an attempt to play mindgames with the Wyatts by not showing up.

Rhea Ripley is not intimidated by Nia Jax or Lash Legend backstage. After they leave, Jade Cargill appears in the shot to get a look at Ripley, before she heads to the ring.

A match was scheduled to happen between Michin and Jade Cargill, but it devolved into a fight backstage and then in the ring. A table spot is teased, but Cargill puts it away. She chokeslams Michin and leaves her laying.
