WWE is known to present intriguing twists and turns to keep its television programming exciting for the fans. One major aspect has been surprise returns, which make their own effort to keep the returning superstar in hiding from the media and fans. One such incident happened back in 2022, courtesy of the man leading the charge today, Paul “Triple H” Levesque.
Which WWE superstar was kept hidden by Triple H before making their monumental return?
In a recent post on his Instagram, DIY member Johnny Gargano revealed that he was hiding in the Toronto Raptors locker room for his return on Monday Night RAW back in 2022. He revealed that Triple H did visit him that night and only a few people knew about his comeback that night, while calling it a cool moment of his life.
“Two years ago today, around this time, I was hiding by myself in the Toronto Raptors locker room, waiting to return to @WWE on Monday Night RAW. Tommaso and Triple H did come to visit me, but only a handful of people in the world knew I was actually in the building that night. Genuine surprises are incredibly rare in this day and age, but I’ll always be proud we were able to create such a cool moment!”
Following a remarkable run in NXT, Johnny Gargano left the company in 2021 to focus on his family and other things. However, when Triple H assumed control of Creative, he brought back Gargano in August 2022 as a fixture for Monday Night RAW.
Johnny Gargano has also tasted some success on the main roster, and he is currently part of his popular DIY team alongside Tomasso Ciampa. The duo also became the tag team champions on SmackDown for a short while before being dethroned by The Bloodline, and are looking to build momentum as a top team on the blue brand.
