Rajasthan Royals got a strong start in their match against Punjab Kings at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
Arshdeep Singh, the Punjab Kings bowler, had a tough time in the first over, giving away 22 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal, the Royals opener, hit four boundaries and a six to make this happen.
This was the most expensive first over in IPL 2025. Jaiswal also made the most expensive first over in IPL history in 2023, when he scored 26 runs off Nitish Rana of Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens.
Today, Arshdeep Singh’s over was the third most expensive first over ever in the IPL. Thanks to Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Rajasthan Royals scored their fastest team 50 of this IPL season, in just 2.5 overs.
