Yashasvi Jaiswal reveals the backstory behind Perth ton celebration

Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal recently revealed the backstory behind his celebration after scoring an incredible hundred in the victory over Australia at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Jaiswal played a fantastic knock of 161 runs in India’s second innings to propel the visitors to the mammoth total of 487/6.

The 22-year-old brought up his century with a brilliant upper-cut that went for a maximum. However, there was a brief moment where Jaiswal was unsure if his shot had gone for a boundary or all the way.

After it was confirmed as a six, Jaiswal took some time to pull out a celebration and decided to give flying kisses. The batter revealed that he was thinking which celebration to do when the moment happened, and he was left a bit confused.

Jaiswal added that the moment will stay with him for a long time, revealing that the flying kisses were for his family and fans, who have supported him on his journey.

“Yes, it was (an unusual) way to bring up the hundred. In my mind, I was like, I will do this or that, and then suddenly, something happened, and I was like, oh my god, what should I do,” Jaiswal said.

“So, I was like, okay, I will just celebrate, and I will enjoy this moment. I was blessed, I was grateful, I enjoyed it, this feeling will stay with me for a long time. I give kisses to all my loved ones, all my fans who have supported me. I just wanted to give them my love with the kisses,” Jaiswal added.
