Their recent and former sportsmen have filed severe critiques against Pakistan players after Bangladesh’s humiliating victory at home. Bangladesh is the only country to hold a Test series win against Pakistan in their history. The tourists outplayed them with both bat and ball as they recorded their maiden victory over the opponents in this format of the game. For some years to come, Pakistan will hate that they lost both Tests under control at various moments during the games that finished on a final score of 0-2.
It is not surprising that Javed Miandad and Inzamam-ul-Haq among others are questioning the quality of batsmen from Pakistan while Ahmed Shehzad insulted players by insinuating what it takes for hosts to play Test cricket according to him looked evident in Bangladesh.
“Bangladesh whitewashed Pakistan in their own backyard,” Shehzad said in his YouTube Video about this matter. “You guys just cannot compete at all. However, The political unrest in Bangladesh was unfavorable (and so was violence). Moreover, most of the time when they practiced for the Series outside Pakistan with them. They managed them well including bating or bowling departments as it was mentioned before. Besides using our example made through test matches they taught us how to withstand long term conditions like in the case of test cricket: discipline was presented by their bowlers”
Shehzad said that Bangladesh seemed to be playing on a flat pitch while Pakistan batsmen struggled for runs. “We were focusing on the pitch. On the same track when Bangladesh were batting it appeared flat but our batters were struggling,” he said.
“I am sure this win will be motivating for the Bangladesh fans given what’s happening in their country. Bangladesh players did what they could for their own country and fans,” he added.
With this performance, Bangladesh have jumped to the fourth spot on the ICC World Test Championship points table while Pakistan have slipped to the 9th spot.
Shehzad also expressed his concern over how Pakistan batters failed to deal with pace and movement. “If you can’t handle a bit of pace and movement even at home then the future is not very bright for us,” he said.
As per reports, Pakistan Test coach Jason Gillispie and his white-ball counterpart Gary Kirsten have advised the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and selectors to not press the panic button as it will further dent the confidence of the players.
