Andre Siddharth, the 18-year-old batting star, was born on August 28, 2006, but the cutoff date to be eligible for the tournament is September 1, 2006, or less. Hence, he won’t be able to participate in a competition where young talents get a platform to flaunt their superior skill sets.

During the IPL 2025 auction, Chennai Super Kings bought Andre Siddharth for his base price of INR 30 Lakhs. Generally, CSK don’t invest in young and raw products since they believe the IPL doesn’t reward grooming talents, but their acquisition of Siddharth shows how much talent he possesses.
Siddharth is a local man and would know the conditions quite well in CSK’s home matches. While he might not start from the first game, the team management might look to provide him with some opportunity at some stage of the tournament.
His T20 game is pretty unknown at this stage, for he hasn’t made his debut in white-ball formats for his domestic side. But given his raw talent, success is bound to come sooner or later.
He had a rare failure against Pakistan U-19 yesterday in the Youth Asia Cup. Batting at No.3, Siddharth could only score 15 runs, and his team lost the game by 43 runs.
