What is the iRacing IMSA Classic 500 Special Event?
The iRacing IMSA Classic 500 Special Event is a 500-kilometre team event for historic GTP and GTO racecars, specifically, the Nissan GTP ZX-T or the Audi 90 Quattro GTO.
In a break from its traditional Road America home, the race will take place around the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca and feature driver swaps for teams of up to 16 drivers.
Traxion will be represented on the grid thanks to our very own John Munro and Ross McGregor, with a community competition underway to create a Traxion-themed livery for our GTP Nissan. In exchange, the selected winners will receive a pair of Traxion gloves.

When is the iRacing IMSA Classic 500 Special Event?
The iRacing IMSA Classic 500 Special Event takes place this weekend, 10th–12th April, 2026 (time zone-dependent), with five time slots available as shown below.
- Timeslot #1 – Friday 22:00 GMT
- Timeslot #2 – Saturday 7:00 GMT

To race in the iRacing IMSA Classic 500 Special Event, all drivers must have a valid iRacing subscription, at least a D Road License at 4.0 or above, own the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca track and at least one of the cars below.

How to enter the iRacing IMSA Classic 500 Special Event
The iRacing IMSA Classic 500 Special Event will appear in the iRacing UI under the ‘Official’ section and can be joined by clicking on the ‘Register’ button once a suitable race time has been selected.
