“You’ve made….”Babar Azam’s massive praise for Arshad Nadeem for winning the gold medal in Javelin

Pakistan’s cricket leader, Babar Azam, praised Arshad Nadeem for his gold medal win at the Paris Olympics 2024. On Thursday, Arshad performed exceptionally well, ending Pakistan’s 32-year wait for a medal in this four-year event. In 1992, Pakistan won a bronze medal by defeating the Netherlands at the Barcelona Olympics.

Arshad threw the javelin 92.97 meters on his second try, which was enough to win the top prize in the men’s javelin competition. He also set a new Olympic record, breaking the previous one held by Andreas Thorkildsen of Norway, who threw 90.57 meters in the 2008 Beijing Games.

Babar, who has been the leader in all three types of international cricket games, praised the 27-year-old for making Pakistan proud. “After 30 long years, the gold is back in Pakistan! Big congratulations to @arshadnadeem29 for this amazing accomplishment. You’ve made the whole country proud,” Babar wrote.

Arshad seemed a bit uninterested at first. During his initial try, he started off poorly and then made an incorrect throw. However, when he threw the javelin the second time, he couldn’t be stopped. His record-breaking throw put him in the lead, and he maintained that position.

He ended with a throw of 91.79 meters. Neeraj Chopra earned the silver medal with his best throw of the season, 89.45 meters. Andersen Peters from Grenada won the bronze medal with a throw of 88.54 meters.

Before the Paris Olympics, Arshad had never beaten Neeraj in the nine competitions they both participated in. But on Thursday, Arshad managed to perform his best under pressure. Regarding Babar, he has been having a difficult time recently, especially since Pakistan didn’t make it to the semifinals of the T20 World Cup 2024.
