Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is reportedly being considered for a coaching position in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). According to reports in Sportstar, Delhi Capitals (DC) has expressed interest in bringing the 2011 World Cup winner on board.
The Delhi-based franchise has faced many challenges in the recent seasons of the tournament and recently also released legendary Australian batter Ricky Ponting as their head coach.
This vacancy, coupled with the franchise’s keen interest in Yuvraj, suggests that there is a possibility of him taking on the role of head coach.
There were earlier reports suggesting that Yuvraj Singh was in discussions with the Gujarat Titans to take over the head coach position. This followed the news of Ashish Nehra’s departure from the franchise. However, it has now been clarified that Nehra will continue in his role, and now the Gujarat-based franchise is exploring options to fill the position vacated by Gary Kirsten, who has become the head coach of Pakistan.
