The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be the largest in history, featuring an expanded format with a total of 48 participating nations.
It will be co-hosted by three North American countries: Canada, Mexico, and the USA.

There has been a significant increase from the previous 32-team format which will allow other continents more countries to particpate.

The first game will see Mexico play South Africa at the Mexico City Stadium (Esatadio Azteca) at 19 : 00 GMT
