2026 World Cup: We have the experience to play against England – Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Scores, Results

Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has expressed confidence in the Black Stars’ ability to compete against England, insisting the squad has the experience required for the high-stakes encounter at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The four-time African champions are set to face England on June 23 in their second Group L fixture at the tournament, which will be staged across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Speaking on the All Out Football podcast, Semenyo acknowledged the quality of the Three Lions, now under the guidance of Thomas Tuchel, but maintained that Ghana’s experience could prove decisive.

“I’m looking forward to it. It’s going to be tough, especially against England, but we have a lot of experience,” the Manchester City forward said.

Ghana will begin their campaign against Panama on June 17 before taking on England, and will conclude their group stage fixtures against Croatia on June 27.

As part of their preparations, the Black Stars are expected to regroup in May for a series of friendly matches, starting with Mexico before rounding off their build-up against Wales on June 2.

With early exits at the 2014 and 2022 tournaments still fresh, newly appointed head coach Carlos Queiroz faces the challenge of rebuilding momentum and steering Ghana toward an improved showing on the global stage.
