3 prospect pitchers to follow on the Florida Complex League Blue Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays might not have gotten off to a strong start, but their counterparts in the Florida Complex League are firing on all cylinders out of the gate.

The Florida Complex League Blue Jays, who play Rookie Ball and are generally just starting on their big league journies, are a perfect 6-0 heading into their Monday afternoon contest. They have beaten the FCL Phillies (x2), FCL Tigers (x2), and FCL Yankees (x2) to begin the campaign, and the club is looking to keep that hot streak going.

Of the top prospects in the organization, only four players are listed on the Rookie Ball squad, and two of them are currently on the IL: Jared Spencer and Canadian Micah Bucknam. While there may not be a ton of blue-chip talent on the squad in terms of the rankings, there are a few players (pitchers for this article ) that are standing out early for the FCL Jays.

Carson Messina – RHP

Drafted by the Jays in the 12th round back in 2024, the Jays went over $400K overslot to sign Carson Messina and convince him to forego his commitment to South Carolina.

Messina didn’t pitch affiliated ball post-draft and lasted just two outings in 2025 before landing on the IL all season long, so the 2026 season is going to be his opportunity to showcase what he can do on the mound. He’s made one start for the FCL squad to begin the year, and went three innings without allowing a hit or a walk on 28 pitches (20 strikes), striking out three in the process. He generated seven whiffs through his outing and was relatively sharp and efficient with his pitch usage.

Messina sits in the mid-90s with his fastball and is a physically imposing 19-year-old at 6-foot-2, 225 pounds. Getting more reps this season will set him up for success as he continues to develop in the Jays farm system, and potentially see his draft ranking rise from his current spot at #28.

Seojun Moon – RHP

The Toronto Blue Jays spent some of their 2025 international bonus pool money that they acquired in their pursuit of Roki Saski on right-hander Seojun Moon, making Moon the first Korean-born international free agent signing in the franchise’s history. Moon was expected to be a top pick in the KBO Draft last year before signing with Toronto.

Standing at 6-foot-4, Moon posted a 2.18 ERA across 24 games during his senior year, striking out 93 batters across 66 innings. The right-hander didn’t allow a single home run during his run, and the Jays were able to sign him for a bonus reportedly over $1 million. Moon reportedly decided to sign with Toronto over other offers from the New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Moon has made one start in the FCL, and the 18-year-old impressed in his debut outing. Across two innings and 30 pitches, Moon allowed just one hit and one walk with zero earned runs while striking out two. He was sitting in the low to mid 90s with his fastball, and many in the farm system believe he could be a quick riser given his frame and metrics.

Seojun Moon made his pro debut today for the FCL #BlueJays, striking out 2 over 2 scoreless innings.

Another intriguing Jays arm to follow in the FCL as the year goes on.

Sann Omosako – RHP

A native of Sao Paolo, Brazil, Sann Omosako signed with the Jays at the start of the 2023 international signing period and at 20 years old, he already has three seasons of pro baseball under his belt.

Omosako spent the first two seasons in the DSL, posting a 2.49 ERA across 76 innings with 63 strikeouts, and the right-hander jumped to the FCL last season, where he pitched to mixed results across 12 outings (five starts). With the FCL Blue Jays, he amassed a 4.09 ERA while seeing an increase in his H/9 to 10.6, while striking out batters at an 8.0 K/9 clip. Impressively, Omosako held opponents on the free passes, walking just four batters to an 0.8 BB/9 mark.

Omosako likely will move forward as a reliever, but he can still pitch bulk innings. His lone outing in 2026 was a 4 1/3 relief outing where he allowed just three hits and one walk, striking out one with a clean sheet. The Brazilian product is likely not staying for long in the FCL, but a couple more outings under his belt will go a long way for a promotion to Single-A Dunedin.
